Kawartha Youth Orchestra (KYO) is a nonprofit, charitable organization which has been providing outstanding musical experiences for local children and youth since 2002.

The Orchestras offer access for all interested young musicians, regardless of economic means, by maintaining fees far below actual cost.

KYO seeks your support to keep the music going.

Subsidize A Musician

Annual, monthly, or one-time gifts ensure youth access to the tools and instruction to be orchestra members.

See what your gift can do:

$10 – Provides a musician with performance wear.
$25 – Gives a child musician a 30-minute instrument lesson.
$50 – Purchases a music folder.
$100 – Maintains an instrument in playing condition (reeds, pads, grease, oil, strings, rosin).
$1000 – Sponsors an auditioned orchestra musician or two non-auditioned musicians for the year.

Adopt An Orchestra

Each orchestral ensemble has special needs according to the skill level of musicians, instrumentation, and repertoire.

See how your gift can support program delivery:

$100 – Purchases a music stand or headphones and a microphone for remote participation.
$250 – Funds the cost of music rental/purchase for a term.
$500 – Acquires a quality instrument for loan to a musician.
$1000 – Sponsors a community Education Outreach event.
$5000 – Secures space and instruction for weekly orchestra rehearsal.

$1000 – Sponsors ensemble rehearsal space.
$2500 – Supports an annual enrichment activity, tour, or excursion for all orchestra musicians.
$5000 – Funds masterclasses and guest clinicians for the year.
$7500 – Sponsors 30-minute private instrument lessons for all orchestra musicians.
$10,000 – Sponsors a full concert cycle (production expenses for a term).
