UPBEAT! Downtown
UPBEAT! Downtown is an after school music program for children living in
Peterborough who are interested in music and face barriers accessing music education.

WHAT HAPPENS AT UPBEAT?
UPBEAT is a safe place to be a child – to unwind after school with friends, grab a healthy snack, be part of a team, and be creative – while learning to make music under the guidance of caring and professional music educators.
No musical experience is required!
Children will learn the violin, viola, or cello; sing in choir; read music; and learn from all kinds of musical guests from various music communities.

4:00-5:45pm every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday from September to June

All Saints’ Anglican Church Parish Hall, 235 Rubidge St., Peterborough ON
COST
Subsidized (free for qualifying families; notice of CRA assessment is required at time of application)
Participants receive instrument loans, all program supplies and instruction, and daily healthy snacks
Consistent attendance is required. Program space is limited, and a wait list is maintained.
HOW DO I REGISTER MY CHILD?
UPBEAT welcomes student referrals from school principals, classroom teachers, and service agency personnel.
Registration paperwork is required for each program participant. Participation contracts (including instrument loan details) are required for each student and must be cosigned by the student’s parent/guardian.
